What dependency looks like…

As children, when there was a bowl on a shelf we couldn’t reach or a project we needed help with, my sister and I took full advantage of our mother’s open door policy. Without hesitation, we would call out her name and go running to her.

As independent adults we sometimes forget the dependent relationship we experienced with our parents. Far too often we seek advice and assistance from everyone in our frequent call group before letting our request be made known to our heavenly Father in prayer.

In the same way that my sister and I would run to our mother for all of our needs, God desires us to seek Him. The Omnipotent (all powerful), Omniscient (all knowing), and Omnipresent (all present) God of the universe cares enough for us to know the number of hairs on our heads. He desires us to bring everything to him no matter how big or small the concern. He knows you – the purpose and plan He created you to accomplish. To walk victoriously in your calling for life, place all your confidence in Him to direct your path. Faith, in this context, is complete trust and confidence in God. His credit and record is perfect. He has never failed, so during times of darkness, trials and tribulations, God is trust worthy and able to supply your every need. I challenge you to seek God first in all you do, and witness the great things He will do in your life. 

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5: 6-7)
